Esco Raises Biosafety Awareness in the Philippines

In order to fulfill Esco’s mission in providing world-class equipment and services, Esco Philippines, Inc. had shared their knowledge on biosafety to the teaching staff and students of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) and Lyceum of the Philippines University- Batangas City earlier this April.

Last April 5, 2019, a Biosafety Awareness Seminar was held at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, a well-known institution in the Philippines. The event’s theme was entitled “CS Eco Warriors Forum : Health Safety and Environmental Protection”. Participants include professors and students from the College of Science.

On behalf of PLM, Ms. Jennifer Sy, College of Science Secretary, expressed their gratitude to Esco by awarding the company a certificate of appreciation. The seminar had provided them vital information regarding hazard isolation and the right safety equipment.

Another Biosafety Seminar was held at the Lyceum of the Philippines University-Batangas-City last April 10, 2019 in which Esco has been chosen to be one of the key speakers during the University’s 2019 Allied Health Week Symposium. Professors and students from the College of Allied Medical Professions participated in the event.

The Dean of the College of Allied Medical Professions, Dr. Carina Magtibay, had then expressed her appreciation to Esco, recognizing the importance of the topic on working safely in the laboratory for students, especially those who will be working in the laboratory for their thesis studies and on-the-job training.

Esco extends its gratitude to both universities for granting the opportunity to impart its expertise in laboratory safety. Esco will remain steadfast in its goal of making the world a better and safer place to live in, not just through manufacturing quality laboratory equipment, but also through spreading awareness of safe laboratory work practices.
