Minimizing COVID-19 Transmission with Esco Lifesciences Solutions
According to World Health Organization (WHO), the SARS-CoV-2 virus can spread between people when an infected person coughs, sneezes, speaks, sings, or breathes. The virus particle size can also vary from small aerosols to large droplets. Aerosol transmission can reach farther distances while droplet transmission is evident at short distances. Data shows that the virus is mostly transmitted between people in close contact of approximately 1 meter. At this distance, there is a likely chance of inhaling or coming in direct contact with droplets.

On the other hand, aerosol transmission can be more difficult to control compared to contact and droplet transmission. The installation of air filters, ionizers, and purifiers in rooms decreases the likelihood of aerosol dispersion. However, if these solutions are unavailable, the next best measure is to properly ventilate the room to purge the aerosols and allow the air inside to be refreshed.
