As more research has been conducted and more groups involved, these have been coordinated in an attempt to provide uniformity. Each standard however, has a different focus. The NIOSH Alert is a broad guideline; ASHP addresses pharmacists' concerns; USP <797> deals exclusively with sterile compounding; and USP <800> is specifically on HD handling in healthcare setting.
