EFH is the only single wall fume hood, that’s is why the base cabinet (EBC) is required since the worktop and service fixtures are connected there.
Base cabinets are the appropriate chemical storage. Esco offers a wide range of storage solutions for general purposes, corrosive, and flammable substances.
a. Airflow Visualization - Local and gross airflow visualization tests conducted to observe airflow patterns inside work chamber
b. Face Velocity Measurements - Face velocity and uniformity tested at 100% and design sash opening position
c. Tracer Gas Containment - uses Sulfur hexafluoride to test if there are leakage across the fume hood.
Location impacts the nature and extent of external airflow disturbances which may affect a ducted fume hood's performance. It is advisable to have a site assessment before purchasing a ducted fume hood.
b. Application
The types of chemicals, quantity, temperature and nature of handling are important factors to consider. There is a wide range of ducted fume hood models, each designed to handle a specific type of chemical and application.
This safety feature limits sash movement beyond 457 mm (18") to encourage users to work at safe levels. When raised above said height, the sash will automatically and gently fall back to safe levels through Esco's Creep Down Mechanism. This feature can only be disabled by a key, which permits Laboratory Managers or Safety Officers to restrict hood operation.
b. Airflow Monitor
Esco's Sentinel XL Airflow monitor alarm is an optional accessory that accurately monitors facev elocity and generates an alarm when inflow decreases to unsafe levels. This also has a sash alarm that activates when the sash is not in the recommended height level.
