First known as Virginia Mason Research Center established in 1956. The institution has been renamed in 2002 in recognition of the Benaroya family of Seattle, which now houses more than 275 scientific and administrative staff with a research volume of more than $71 million a year, including grants from the National Institutes of Health, JDRF, The Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Benaroya Research Institute at Virginia Mason (BRI) is one of the leading research institutes in the world devoted to innovation towards autoimmune and immune system diseases. BRI is deeply into medical research that has resulted in major advances against 80+ diseases of the immune system.
With BRI's vision to push more towards major scientific advancement, their lab facility should be partnered with quality equipment. BRI primarily use Esco Labculture Reliant Class II Type A2 biosafety cabinets to conduct their research. These cabinets are equipped with: Ultra Low Penetration Air filters which operates at a typical efficiency of 99.999%, surpassing the conventional HEPA filters in contamination protection, intuitive simple switches controller, ergonomically angled front glass to prevent glare from ceiling lights, and the anti-microbial powder coat known as ISOCIDE™ which reduces the bioburden.
The dished one-piece work surface contains spillage and the angled drain pan with smooth polished corners is easy to surface decontaminate. Cabinets are equipped with intuitive simple switches, pressure gauge and manual UV timer to prolong life of the UV lamp.
In synergy with Benaroya's goal towards excellent scientific innovation, Esco Labculture Reliant Class II Type A2 biosafety cabinets help their effort to pave the way to greater researches regarding autoimmune and immune system diseases. Esco LR2 biosafety cabinet provide the operator, product, and environment protection for Benaroya's breakthrough studies, with optimum safety, ease to use, and comfort.
