INDONESIA, 10 October 2025 – PT Esco Utama (“Esco Utama”) has proudly achieved ISO 17025 accreditation from the National Accreditation Committee (“KAN”), marking a major milestone in the company’s mission to provide world-class laboratory recertification services for Biological Safety Cabinets (“BSC), Laminar Air Flow (“LAF”) units, and fume hoods. This achievement underscores Esco Utama’s unwavering commitment to quality, precision, and compliance with international standards.
In 2019, Esco Utama began the accreditation process, preparing to provide recertification services for BSCs, LAF units, and fumehoods. At that time, no ISO 17025-accredited institutions were available in Indonesia, prompting close collaboration with KAN to classify Esco Utama as a Testing Laboratory. Despite temporary delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the company resumed the process in May 2023 in response to growing customer demand for accredited recertification services.
A critical step in the accreditation journey was documentation preparation and training. In October 2023, a team from Bintan, including Ms. Putri and Ms. Natasya, provided hands-on guidance on documentation, internal audits, management reviews, and ISO 17025 requirements. Once finalized, the accreditation application was submitted in February 2024.
The accreditation process comprised 17 rigorous stages, from initial document submission to final laboratory assessment. Key milestones included:
- Feb-May 2024: Initial document submission and feasibility audits, with multiple rounds of revisions.
- May-Sep 2024: Document and record audits to ensure full compliance with ISO 17025 standards.
- 30-31 Oct 2024: Initial on-site assessment at PT Esco Utama, including documentation review and testing observation.
- 23 Nov 2024: Follow-up assessment to witness all technicians performing BSC, LAF, and fumehood tests.
- Oct 2024-Feb 2025: Implementation of corrective actions to meet accreditation requirements.
- 7 Feb 2025: Completion of corrective actions.
- 11 Apr 2025: Official ISO 17025 accreditation awarded.
